Ex-Amazon Alexa Leader Matthew Mason Joins Neonify as Fractional CTO to Drive Strategic Innovation & Product Development
We’re proud to announce that Matt Mason, a seasoned technology executive and former Amazon leader behind Alexa, has joined Neonify as our Fractional Chief Technology Officer (CTO). With more than 20 years of experience spanning software engineering, AI, and large-scale product innovation, Matt brings the deep technical and strategic leadership needed to help Neonify scale as a global force in generative AI and ad-tech.
At Amazon, Matt was a core team member on the Alexa project, helping to shape the platform from its earliest prototypes to its rollout across multiple territories. His work helped Alexa evolve from a novel concept into a category-defining product embedded in more than half a billion devices globally. His hands-on leadership in AI product development, cloud infrastructure, and customer-centric innovation has been central to some of the most influential technology launches of the past decade.
As Fractional CTO at Neonify, Matt will not only guide the evolution of our AI platform and technology architecture, but also work closely with the leadership team on long-term product strategy, R&D prioritisation, and operational scalability. His role extends beyond the technical, offering high-level insight into how we align our product development with market needs, client feedback, and the broader direction of the advertising and content industries.
Matt’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment in Neonify’s growth. As we evolve from a fast-moving ad-tech startup into a recognised innovator in AI-powered content creation, his experience in building scalable systems, leading high-performing engineering teams, and navigating the journey from concept to commercial success will be critical.
“Having someone of Matt’s calibre join us—especially with his track record at Amazon—sends a strong signal about the direction Neonify is heading,” said Jason, CEO of Neonify. “His technical depth is matched by his product instincts and strategic thinking. With Matt on board, we’re not just building smarter tools—we’re defining the future of how intelligent content performs in the real world. Combined with our recent strategic work alongside PwC, it’s clear our business is being shaped by the right kind of experience, insight, and ambition.”
Matt will play a key role in refining Neonify’s roadmap, ensuring our platform can scale with our ambitions and deliver lasting value to brands, agencies, and media owners. His guidance will also help shape our go-to-market strategy and build a product culture rooted in innovation, performance, and long-term impact.
We’re thrilled to welcome Matt to the team and look forward to sharing more on how his expertise is already influencing the next chapter of Neonify’s journey.
